The mission of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture’s Market Development Division is “to promote Idaho’s food and agriculture industry by expanding opportunities in domestic and foreign markets fostering industry growth and profitability.” The division conducts both domestic and international marketing programs specifically targeting food and agriculture products.

The Marketing Division is currently seeking an intern to assist in various domestic marketing activities.  This internship is offered to upper level or graduates of an Idaho University and will commence on or about May 15, 2009.

Intern duties may include but not be limited to:

• Event planning, coordination and staffing
• Invoice generation and tracking
• Updating publications
• Store audits
• Compiling distribution lists
• General administrative tasks

The intern program will support our efforts by working on assigned projects with external and internal business partners regarding promotions, sponsorship and public/media relations.  This may include new store promotions, networking with mall managers and store managers for fashion shows and promotions, and working with Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation to promote internal and external awareness. The candidate will also gain experience in how best to communicate in a complex working environment that ensures business objectives are met and teamwork is used.

Photography Assistant Intern:

The Photography Assistant intern will work as an integral member of the photo team at our Home Office in Sandpoint, Idaho. He/she will learn how projects are initiated and follow them to their conclusion and release. Responsibilities will include Assisting Photographers as stated below and follow-up, research, and communication by working closely with members of the other Creative teams such as Project Management, Production and Design.

Web Design Intern:

Web Design Intern is responsible for the creation of e-mails, site designs and digital asset production. Must have knowledge of digital asset preparation including compression and web formatting. This position requires excellent design skills that support the integration of typography, content and imagery into a rapidly evolving e-commerce interface. Web Design Intern will work as a member of the in-house design team supporting the design director, team members and other internal clients.
