Nationwide search underway: Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Director, Communications – University of Idaho

The University of Idaho, through Parker Executive Search, is conducting a national search for the next Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Director, Communications.

About the position

The Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Director, Communications provides visionary leadership and direction over the University’s branding, marketing and strategic communications. Reporting to the President, the position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to build a university branding strategy in alignment with the University’s mission, vision and principles and values, while executing such strategy with the resources needed to be successful in an evolving and complex space.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field related to communications or marketing with at least five (5) years of experience in the field of communications, marketing and/or public relations. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in a complex academic, public or private sector environment.

Job Opening: Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Journalism/Mass Media

The University of Idaho has an opening for a Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Journalism/Mass Media (Advertising).  From the job description:

Position

The School of Journalism and Mass Media invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate professor with a specialty of advertising to begin in August 2011.

Duties

Teach five or six courses per year; summer teaching is optional at additional pay.  The primary teaching area will be advertising, including Principles of Advertising and other courses.  The position may include advising the School’s NSAC Advertising Competition Team.  The successful candidate will also be qualified to teach Media and Society (the School’s survey course for first-year students) and to develop new courses in Advertising and PR.  All tenure-track faculty members are expected to develop a program of scholarly research or creative activity, to advise undergraduate students, to maintain strong professional contacts, to pursue external funding, and to serve on School, College and University committees.
