The 2013 Rockie Awards are coming up on Saturday, April 20th. This year’s theme – Venetian Masquerade Ball – will accompany a change in both format and venue.
The show will be held at the Linen Building at 14th and Grove in downtown Boise. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., announcements start at 8:00, and the gallery will be open from 7:30 – midnight. The show will also include performances from DJ Dangerous Dave, Anti-Magic and the Red Light Variety Show. Tickets and more information are available through the Boise Advertising Federation. Additional details are below.
This year, the tournament will be held on Thursday, September 13th at Shadow Valley Golf Course. It is also being held about a month earlier than in years past, which should help with weather issues that the tournament has run into in the past.
In addition to starting off the new year, the BAF will announce the winner of the Duke Award, install this year’s Board of Directors, and offer a preview of what the organization has planned for the coming year.
Admission is free for members, and $5 for nonmembers — or, if you join the BAF at this event, your admission is free as well. Additional details are below.
The Boise Advertising Federation is hosting the Tour de Smashed, an after hours agency tour of select shops around Boise. The mayhem kick off at 5:30 p.m. in the Foerstel parking lot. More details below.
Update: Due to the number of confirmed attendees, a second bus has been added for this event, and even that one is filling up fast. If you’re interested in attending this event, be sure to get your RSVP in ASAP.
The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent of people in an unprecedented way, unleashing unlimited creative opportunities.
But does democratized culture mean better art, film, music and literature or is true talent instead flooded and drowned in the vast digital ocean of mass culture? Is it cultural democracy or mediocrity?
This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, a documentary film containing interviews with some of the world’s most influential creators of the digital era.
The screening is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Linen Building in downtown Boise. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Idaho Foodbank.
As you’re probably aware of by now, the Boise Advertising Federation’s2011 Legends of Advertising Golf Tournament is coming up on Friday, October 7th.
The tournament takes place at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, and proceeds benefit the state’s college ad clubs and serves as a part of their fundraising for this year’s National Student Advertising Competition.
Cost is $125 for an individual entry, $425 for a foursome, or $550 for a foursome + hole sponsorship. All prices include the post-tournament BBQ.
The no-host bar event runs from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Admission is free for BAF members and $5 for non-members (although I’d be willing to bet they’d let you in for free if you become a member at the door — but I could be wrong).
