Internship Opportunity: Domestic Marketing

The Idaho Department of Agriculture has an internship opportunity available to “assist in various domestic marketing activities”

From the internship description:

The mission of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture’s Market Development Division is “to promote Idaho’s food and agriculture industry by expanding opportunities in domestic and foreign markets fostering industry growth and profitability.” The division conducts both domestic and international marketing programs specifically targeting food and agriculture products.

The Marketing Division is currently seeking an intern to assist in various domestic marketing activities.  This internship is offered to upper level or graduates of an Idaho University and will commence on or about May 15, 2009.

Intern duties may include but not be limited to:

  • Event planning, coordination and staffing
  • Invoice generation and tracking
  • Updating publications
  • Store audits
  • Compiling distribution lists
  • General administrative tasks

MVAF Event: The Business of Tourism

Magic Valley Advertising Federation

The Magic Valley Advertising Federation’s next luncheon event, The Business of Tourism, is scheduled for Thursday, May 13that the Shilo Inn in Twin Falls.  From the event’s description:

Tourism represents an over $3 billion dollar industry in Idaho. It is Idaho’s third largest industry. Blaine and Twin Falls counties reap 10% of those tourism dollars. On Thursday, May 13th at The Shilo Inn, the Magic Valley Advertising Federation will present Karen Ballard, Idaho State Tourism Director, to talk about “The Business of Tourism,” discussing its impact and affect.

re(Mark): Boise State University Senior Portfolio Show

Boise State University’s Senior Portfolio Show is coming up this Wednesday, April 28th, at the Powerhouse Events Center.

During this spring semester Students have prepared a portfolio which they going to use to enter the professional job market. Students have also participated in revising and editing their existing work. Many students have also added new work. A key component to this process is selecting an appropriate presentational format, and developing self-promotional products and strategies. And now “finally” they are sharing their finished portfolios with the professional design community.

The show is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., with 5:00 – 6:00 serving as the Professionals’ Hour, and 6:00 – 9:00 open to the public.
