New additions to the site

I’ve had a few new shops pop up on the radar lately, and thought I’d pass them along:

dna advertising consulting: dna is a three-person shop in Boise, and much to my amusement they even have a blog on their site. Now Adam, the key is to keep it updated (not that I’m in any position to speak about that lately).

Side Door Media: Side Door Media is a full-service media buying and planning shop in Boise.

W Design: Also in Boise, W Design is the business face of Kristy Weyhrich, formerly of Oliver Russell & Associates. No website as of yet to link to but she’s promised to let me know as soon as it’s up (and now you’re really on the hook Kristy!)

Other Notable Sites – New Addition

After much delay (sorry George), I’ve added AdScam to the list of Other Notable Sites.

While most, if not all of the content on AdScam is related to the marketing world outside of Idaho, it is worth noting that George lives right here in Boise, and has been known to comment on the local stuff from time to time.

BAF Luncheon with Bart Cleveland

I had the opportunity to attend the BAF luncheon this past Friday, with guest speaker Bart Cleveland, and I’m glad that I did.

It was refreshing to see the simplicity of Bart’s presentation. He wasn’t intentionally trying to wow anyone — the work did that all on its own. His message was simple: Do good work. Of course he also went on to explain that good work doesn’t just happen overnight. It is a result of everyone’s efforts to make all of the pieces come together for the client at the right time.

Bart also stressed the fact that success doesn’t just happen overnight. It’s a result of many years of hard work and frustration, with a little luck sprinkled in as well.

I’m sure everyone who was at the luncheon has their own take on what Bart had to say and present. I, for one, am glad that I took the time to hear what he had to say. For anyone who wasn’t there, you missed out. You can, however, read Bart’s columns on the Ad Age Small Agency Diary to get an idea of what he had to say.

And to Bart Cleveland — thank you for taking the time to come up to Boise Idaho and visit with us for a while.

This one slipped past me until recently…

Es/drake has added John Drake to head up their business development efforts and enhance their account service capabilities. John was most recently at Wongdoody in Irvine, California. More about John can be found on es/drake’s website.

Congratulations John.
