AIGA Idaho is hosting Drinks for Design, a social get-together for designers and like-minded individuals. From the folks at AIGA:

Enjoy the spring weather and come have a drink with some fellow designers. No agenda other than socializing and networking with some great like-minded people. If you want bring a project to share and get feedback great; but no pressure.

Web Design for Print Designers—Round 2

Join us for this second part of AIGA Idaho Education Series event on web design featuring Aaron Day web programmer, designer and owner of Thrive Web Designs and Steve Norell Sr. interactive designer at Drake Cooper.

Aaron Day will share his techniques for building a portfolio website using WordPress. He’ll review the basics of the ubiquitous CMS and then dive in to show how to build an online portfolio with a blog and contact form. Steve Norell will go over the basic front-end code structure of the web, including an introduction to HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and how it all fits together.

Known for his stunning illustrations, Bill Carman has harnessed his creative passions and applied them to a wide variety of positions including freelancer, teacher, art director and more. In August 2015, Carman released his second book: Imagery from the Bird’s Home. Join AIGA Idaho for an evening with Carman as he discusses how he turned his creativity into an expression of a journey through life.

There will be a raffle for prizes including a signed copy of Carman’s new work and a printed piece of Carman’s art. Books and posters will be for sale and Carman will be available for signing after his presentation.
