The things that happen when we’re not paying attention

For regular readers of the Idaho Ad Agencies blog, you’ve not doubt noticed that updates and new posts have been few and far between.  Or, at the very least, they haven’t kept up with the pace that you’ve come to expect from this site.

Even though that’s been the case as of late, there have still been quite a few things happening in and around the marketing, advertising and communications industry.  Here’s just a sampling:

SOVRN Creative added a new staff member recently.

SOVRN also won a National Silver ADDY Award for their work on Todd Meier’s “Rapture in Six Cantos” Direct Mail, and completed several spots for the “Go On” campaign from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation.

Red Sky Public Relations welcomed two new folks to their team in the past month or so.

Both the Boise Advertising Federation and AIGA Idaho look to be ramping up events for the season.  The Magic Valley Advertising Federation is also maintaining an active schedule, and the Eastern Idaho Advertising Federation looks to be picking up as well.

All in all, there’s a lot going on these day, with more yet to come.

Even if some half-rate hack blogger isn’t covering it nearly as much as they should…

New Hires and Promotions at Hanna & Associates

Hanna & Associates in Coeur d’Alene has promoted two staff members and added a new face to their office recently.

From the announcement in the North Idaho Business Journal:

Sheila Beaudry has been promoted to Vice President, Comptroller. She has been overseeing the company’s accounting staff and financial operations.

Also promoted was Susan Park to Director of IT Services. Her new position now includes supervising interactive programming development in addition to in-house technology management.

Finally, Ryan Johnson has been hired as Interactive Producer to join Hanna’s Interactive Communications department.  He will be responsible for creating web advertising, websites, cell phone messaging, mobile TV, gaming programs and other new media options.  A 2008 University of Idaho graduate, Johnson previously served as an IT specialist at Innercept, a therapeutic boarding school specializing in programs for young adults.

Congratulations to all.

New Hires at Peppershock

Peppershock Media Productions has added two new faces to their staff:

Janine Nirei has joined Peppershock as their “Air Traffic Controller” a.k.a. Marketing Assistant.  Prior to relocating to Idaho, Janine was an Account Executive at Laird Christianson Advertising in Hawaii.

Jana Jeffery has also joined Peppershock, working in the Business Development and Project Management space.  Jana is currently working on a contract-basis, and her success will be determined as part of a nine-week “Sizzle or Fizzle” evaluation taking place online, at savemybaconstrip.com, and the accompanying Facebook page and Twitter profile.

Congratulations to both.

Incidentally, it’s worth noting that both of these folks were listed on the Available Talent page of the Idaho Ad Agencies site.  For agencies and other businesses looking for talent, this is a good place to start your search.  For individuals who are on the job hunt, make sure that you’ve got your information to us — you never know who might be looking for talent.
