Recurring recognition for Advantage Advertising

For the fifth time in the past four years, Lewiston’s Advantage Advertising has been recognized by Bleacher Report for their football marketing work on behalf of their clients. The agency’s poster designs for the University of Idaho Vandals and University of Wyoming Cowboys placed at number 5 and number 13 respectively.

“Now Idaho can also lay claim to having one of the best schedule posters for 2015, one that creatively uses its state’s unique shape as a way to highlight its best players,” commented Feature Columnist Brian Pedersen on BleacherReport.com in ranking Idaho at #5. The Idaho poster can be viewed here.

“Wyoming had last year’s top-ranked schedule poster, and the Cowboys have another good one for 2015…It’s a great mix that is closely associated with the Cowboys, and to drive this home there are actual cowboys with lassos riding out from the prairie,” he commented on the #13 Wyoming ranking. The Wyoming poster can be viewed here.

The 2015 poster designs, created by Advantage’s Lead Designer Nathan Allen, mark the fifth time in the past four years that Advantage Advertising has been ranked nationally by Bleacher Report. All 50 ranked 2015 posters can be viewed here.

Last year, the agency’s design for the University of Wyoming Cowboy football poster was ranked #1 nationally. Previously, the agency’s designs for the University of Idaho Vandals ranked at #4 in 2012, and the Wyoming Cowboys ranked #17 in 2013.

Advantage Advertising has served as agency of record for U of I Athletics since 1995 and for the U of W Athletics since 2012, and was recently selected by the Colorado State University Athletic Department to develop its new marketing programs.

Advantage Advertising’s Chuck Christopher Supports University of Idaho’s JAMM Program

Excerpted from the University of Idaho’s Letter from the President, February 27, 2015.

Generous Gift Supports Award-winning JAMM Program

When Chuck Christopher ’84 graduated with a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences, he was prepared for success in his career. As a participant on the University of Idaho’s award-winning advertising team in the School of Journalism and Mass Media (JAMM), Chuck developed the skills and experience needed to become president of Advantage Advertising in Lewiston, Idaho, in 1987. “Being on the ad team gave me the precise experience to take into my career,” said Chuck. “The ad team prepares the best talent for success in the industry.” Chuck and his wife, Mindy, recently gave to the Advertising Team Endowment so that current Idaho students can prepare for their own future successes. The ad team, advised by JAMM faculty member Justin Barnes, has won the five-state regional competition for two years in a row.

Belated Recognition for Advantage Advertising

In August, Advantage Advertising’s work for  the University of Wyoming was recognized by the Bleacher Report in their ranking of the top 50 college football team schedule posters for 2014. Advantage Advertising’s work for Wyoming was ranked number one in the nation by Bleacher Report.

This isn’t the first time Advantage Advertising’s work in the college sports arena has been recognized. In 2012, the agency’s design for the University of Idaho Vandal football schedule poster ranked number four, and last year the design for the Wyoming Cowboys football ranked 17th.

Also, earlier this year, FootballScoop.com ranked Advantage Advertising’s web design work for Wyoming football’s signing day graphics as number three in the nation.

Well done folks. Well done.

Acquisitions up North

Proof that not everything that happens in the marketing and advertising world in Idaho takes place in and around the Treasure Valley:

Advantage Advertising in Lewiston acquired Digital Barn Productions last month, according to the Lewiston Tribune.

The two firms have moved into a 1,600 square foot space in the Means Building in Lewiston, which has been “customized to include a video production studio with two editing suites, audio recording booth, conference and break rooms, lobby and offices for all of the current staff as well as room for several new hires.”

Dallas and Bobri Roberts, who founded what eventually became Digital Barn Productions in 1993, and Christopher Billow, a web and production manager, have joined Advantage’s current staff of six in the new space.

The full press release from both Advantage and Digital Barn is available here.

Rockie Awards – the Aftermath

The 2012 Rockie Awards Show came and went last Saturday evening. Awards were won, jokes were told, merriment was had by all, and as best as we can tell, no one left the Egyptian Theatre with any major injuries. Now the Bullwinkles on the other hand…

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, and while we don’t yet have the final list of award winners, I expect that it will be posted on the Boise Advertising Federation’s website soon.

And special congratulations go out to Chuck Christopher of Advantage Adverising, winner of this year’s Silver Medal Award, and Neighborhood All-Stars, whose Story Story Night work took home Best of Show.
