Oliver Russell founder pens guide to social enterprise and the purpose-driven movement

Oliver Russell founder Russ Stoddard recently celebrated the release of his new book, Rise Up—How to Build a Socially Conscious Business.

The book provides social entrepreneurs with a helpful guide and sets the stage for a powerful business trend where companies create profit for stakeholders through products, services, and business models that create social impact and public benefit alongside a financial return.

A special, early edition edition of Rise Up is now available for purchase at www.russstoddard.com. The book, which is being published by Elevate Publishing, will be released nationally in September 2017.

Read more about the book, how it came to be, and much more on either Oliver Russell’s or Russ Stoddard’s website.

Oliver Russell adds a trio of new talent

Boise’s Oliver Russell has recently added a trio of new folks to their team:

Senior Art Director Crissie McDowell brings more than 10 years of award-winning experience working with clients such as Blue Cross of Idaho, Simplot Food Group, and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.

Stuart Walsh will serve as interactive developer and has nearly a decade of experience developing websites, interactive content and video games for agencies and clients including the J.R. Simplot Company and Aire rafts, among others.

Kevin Winslow is the firm’s new public relations and social media manager. Winslow comes from Idaho Power where he launched and managed the company’s social media channels. Prior to moving to Boise, he worked in Seattle as a senior social media analyst for Fortune 100 companies.

Said Russ Stoddard, founder and President of Oliver Russell, in a recent release about the new hires, “We’re really excited to expand our offerings to clients. These people know the area, they fit well with our firm, and they share our mission of furthering purpose-driven companies and causes.”

Congratulations to all.

Recognition Galore

Some notable recognition we’ve come across lately:

For those that haven’t heard, Drake Cooper was named one of Outside Magazine’s 30 Best Places to Work. Coming in at number 26, Drake Cooper joins the likes of New Belgium Brewing, Clif Bar and a host of others on the list.

In June, Russ Stoddard, founder and chief executive officer of Oliver Russell received the Service to Community Award from his alma mater, the University of Puget Sound. The Service to Community award “recognizes talents or skills in projects that improve quality of life through human service, the arts, recreation, education, or other pursuits,” and was one of four Distinguished Alumni Awards presented earlier this summer by UPS.

Oliver Russell was also named one of the top 100 advertising agencies in the United States by BtoB Magazine for the fifth year in a row.

AAF Silver Medal Award Winner: Russ Stoddard

At Saturday night’s Rockies Award Show, Russ Stoddard, Founder and President of Oliver Russell, was awarded the AAF Silver Medal from the Idaho Advertising Federation.

Russ, who founded Oliver Russell in 1991, was recognized for his tireless efforts in the marketing and advertising industry, as well as his dedication to giving back to the community through the agency’s O-pen Purse initiative.  That initiative has, to date, given back over $1.2 million dollars in financial and in-kind support to deserving charities throughout the area.

Russ, in his typical laid-back style, was quick to point out that much of the success that he’s had over the years was due to the incredibly talented people that he’s had the fortune to work with over the years.  He kept his speech brief, but congratulations seemed to be flowing throughout the night.

It was a well-deserved recognition, and an excellent choice by the Silver Medal Committee.

Congratulations Russ.
