Job Opening: Graphic Designer

SOVRN Creative in Boise has an opening for a full-time Graphic Designer.  From the job listing on their website:

SOVRN Seeking Kick-Butt, Take No Prisoners Design Talent.

SOVRN, an on-the-rise creative and branding agency specializing in advertising, design, digital communications and video production (it’s a mouthful, we know) is seeking an also on-the-rise graphic designer. Our ideal candidate is junior to mid level and has a portfolio that will blow us away, as well as an entrepreneurial work ethic. You should also be well-versed in both traditional and digital media. We’re a growing agency, so we need a designer who’s a self starter, capable of looking around, seeing what needs to be done and diving in.

For more details, including how to apply, see the full job listing on the SOVRN website.

Tis the Season

And every once in a while we run across something like this that just has to be shared:

Thanks to Adverblog (via Drake Cooper) for the find.

Now, for those of you who are feeling particularly giving this holiday season, here are a couple of (many) ways that you can help:

Visit Care2Share Boise and donate items for one of the many families on the list.

Check out what’s still needed on Rizen Creative’s Thanks+Giving list.

Make a food or cash donation to the Idaho Foodbank.

Visit Beef Counts to donate a virtual serving of beef.

Volunteer your time. Somewhere. Anywhere.

Spread the word about any / all of the above.

BAF Event: PressPausePlay Screening

The Boise Advertising Federation’s final event for 2011 will be a screening of the film PressPausePlay.

About the film:

The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent of people in an unprecedented way, unleashing unlimited creative opportunities.

But does democratized culture mean better art, film, music and literature or is true talent instead flooded and drowned in the vast digital ocean of mass culture? Is it cultural democracy or mediocrity?

This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, a documentary film containing interviews with some of the world’s most influential creators of the digital era.

The screening is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Linen Building in downtown Boise. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Idaho Foodbank.
