New Cooks in the Oliver Russell kitchen

Oliver Russell has added two new — but presumably unrelated — Cooks to their staff:

Dave Cook Dave Cook joins the shop as its new Creative Director. His portfolio of work includes design, branding, advertising and interactive work for clients including Blue Cross of Idaho, the Cleveland Browns and Indians, Alcoa, Hewlett-Packard, Simplot, Lucky Bums Outdoor Gear for Kids, United Way of Treasure Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Create Common Good.

On Dave joining Oliver Russell, President and Founder Russ Stoddard said “Dave’s got a creative mind and an incredibly generous spirit – he’s the perfect fit for Oliver Russell.”

Jesse CookJesse Cook has also joined Oliver Russell, and will focus his efforts on strategy and development in Oliver Russell’s digital marketing practice. Before joining the firm he was with Ocean Media in Huntington Beach, CA, where he worked as a digital media planner and buyer.

On Jesse, Russ said “Jesse has the kind of cutting-edge digital media experience you don’t usually find in Boise, a great add to our company offering.”

Congratulations to both.

An abundance of alliteration

Alliteration is nothing new (its first known use is circa 1624), and it can turn a nice phrase, like wild and woolly or babbling brook. But lately, there seems to be an abundance of it. Case in point:

Seen on a billboard: Your Posterior Plumbing Experts

Heard on the radio: Snot Specialists and Test drives for Testes.

Well done or going for a cheap laugh?

Hey Look, the Vaughans have new titles

Now we all know that husbands and wives get promotions or new jobs all the time. These two just happened to do it at – or around – the same time.

First it was Tanya Vaughan, who recently became VP, Digital Marketing Services at DaviesMoore. Previously she was Director of Marketing at Cradlepoint, and prior to that was Vice President of Marketing at Bodybuilding.com.

Shortly thereafter, Shane Vaughan left Balihoo, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer, to become President of Ecommerce at Agri Beef.

Congratulations to both. And no squabbling about who has the better job title.

Job Opening: Art Director/Graphic Designer

UPDATE: This post has been removed from Craigslist by its author.

An “established advertising, interactive and branding agency in downtown Boise” is looking for an Art Director / Graphic Designer. Or, as they put it, “a needle in a haystack.”

While it is short on details, you can view the original job posting on Craigslist here.
