Here’s one that popped up on my radar last night, and again this morning via Twitter:

Wirestone Twitter Update

And for thos who may not follow along on Twitter, or who might like the translation:

Kevin Gamache has joined Wirestone’s Boise office.  He’ll be working with the group focused on SEO, SEM, PPC and Analytics.

I’m also happy to say that Kevin’s name has been removed from the Available Talent list.

Please join me in congratulating Kevin.

Spotlight on Creative: To Hell With Prep

If you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, you can likely appreciate this one…

To Hell With Prep was rolled out recently by Stoltz Marketing Group for Simplot Food Group’s RoastWorks line of products.  It is targeted at restaurant operators to help them “see the waste and futility of preparing their own roasted vegetables versus using Simplot’s RoastWorks brand of pre-cut, pre-roasted vegetables.”

To Hell With Prep - Simplot

The site includes a video dramatizing the impact that prep can have on a kitchen, cost comparison calculator, product coupons, recipes and other things that you’d expect a restaurant or kitchen owner/manager/operator to be interested in.

The site is part of a larger campaign that also includes print ads in trade publications, PR, a trip sweepstakes and more.

[Insert Appropriate Holiday-Related Headline Here]

Sorry, I just couldn’t bring myself to write a holiday-related headline this early in the season.  But the fact of the matter is that ‘the season’ is here.  And here’s one notable example:

Drake Cooper is putting on their Second Annual Turkey Drive, benefiting the Idaho Food Bank.  As they did last year, the folks at Drake are collecting turkeys to be donated to the Idaho Food Bank.  This year’s drive takes place on Friday, November 13th from 8:00am – 12:00pm.  Coffee and doughnuts will be available for everyone who brings in a turkey.

Another twist this year involves a little friendly competition: The agency/company/group that brings in the most turkeys this year will receive a prize package (of course you’re all free to write down Idaho Ad Agencies as the organization — really, I wouldn’t mind).

Flying High with Harrison Ford

That’s just what the folks from Peppershock Media Productions did last month.

In September, Peppershock was asked to help shoot aerial footage of the Idaho backcountry for Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.  More specifically, the footage was shot for a piece that will be shown during the 6th Annual Spreading Wings Gala, honoring Harrison Ford for his “tireless dedication to promoting aviation and the aerospace community.”

Footage from Idaho was shot over the course of several days, with flights originating from McCall each day.

Peppershock has more details about the experience, as well as a variety of behind-the-scenes / location photos on their blog and Facebook Page.

New Happenings from Oliver Russell

A couple of new/notable items from the folks over at Oliver Russell:

Neal Moore has been hired as Creative Director.  Neal comes to Oliver Russell by way of Pasadena, California, where he was most recently with The Kern Organization in Los Angeles.

BtoB Magazine named Oliver Russell among the top 100 direct marketing agencies in the United States.  This marks the third year in a row that they’ve received this recognition.
