Coffee Morning in Boise

With a gracious tip of the hat to Russell Davies, I’ve finally gotten around to trying to put together a Coffee Morning in Boise.

What is a Coffee Morning, you ask? Well, in a nutshell, it’s a loosely organized gathering, where people come together for coffee and conversation. There’s no agendas, no presentations – just an opportunity for people to chat, share ideas, and learn from one another. The concept has spread all over the world, but until now, the closest one I’ve ever known about was in Portland, Oregon.

Let’s change that.

I have no idea what kind of response or attendance we’ll get, but we’ll kick things off this Friday, April 4th, at Java on the corner of 6th and Main. I’ll be there from 7:30 AM-ish – 9:00 AM-ish, so feel free to stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee (or tea, or other drink of choice) and some conversation with others.

While I don’t think this will become a weekly thing right away, I could see it happening at least once a month, if not every other week.

All are welcome.

UPDATE: Clarified time – 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM.

Rockies Award Show

For those of you who may not have received an email about this already, now’s the time to RSVP for the Rockies Award Show. The show is Saturday, April 12th at The Big Easy in Boise.

RSVPs should go to Jason Hamilton at Fuel 3 Advertising. I traded emails with Jason yesterday and he mentioned that there’s only a couple of tables left, so if you haven’t already gotten your name in you need to do so soon.

REMINDER: Three Courses + Cake

Just a reminder that the Boise Advertising Federation’s Three Courses + Cake luncheon is coming up next Thursday, March 27th. If you haven’t already RSVP’d, be sure to do so soon.

Based on attendance at the last few luncheons, this should be a packed house once again.

Off Topic: TechBoise Blogger Meetup

I received this email from Tac at TechBoise yesterday, and thought I’d share it with those who may be interested in attending:

To recap: This Tuesday at the Lush on Main St in downtown Boise TechBoise is sponsoring a ‘blog’ meet-up. This event is for anyone interested in blogs and blogging. You don’t have to have a blog, you don’t even have to read blogs (although if you don’t and you’re on this list I would be very surprised).

The meet-up has been titled “Find Your Cause” for a reason. The goal of TechBoise has always been about connecting people in order to propel the local tech scene and I believe that bloggers are one of the best way to do that.

Details: Perhaps no other forum in the world can lay claim to the heart of American culture quite the way blogging can. State your cause – from music to technology to family, bloggers have found a voice and today’s Internet is alive with the latest trends. Come contribute, listen and discover Boise’s tech community.

I would highly encourage you to come Tuesday night. Please RSVP on the Planyp.us
site or by responding back to this email. Thanks.
