Buffett in Boise

Yes, as you’ve probably heard by now, Jimmy Buffett is coming to Boise. He’ll be here this Thursday, October 25th.

And our friends over at Rizen Creative are having a Buffett in Boise party, prior to the concert to raise money for the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline and the Idaho Youth Ranch.

Tickets are still on sale, and include an appetizer buffet and two drink vouchers. A no host bar will also be available.

Ignite Boise 10

So yeah, here’s the way-too-early-save-the-date information:

Ignite Boise 10 is scheduled for Thursday, April 18th, 2013.

Doors open to ticket holders at 6:00 p.m., and to everyone else at 6:30. Presentations kick off at 7:00 p.m.

PRSA Idaho Event: Pitching in the New Media Landscape

PRSA Idaho is hosting Batter Up: Pitching in the New Media Landscape, featuring nationally-recognized media pitching coach Michael Smart on Thursday, September 20th.

This half-day event will cover topics such as:

  •  How to take advantage of the upheaval in the media industry.
  • The anatomy of perfect phone and email pitches.
  • Foolproof ways to determine the correct journalists and bloggers to approach.
  • What to say or write to grab attention every time.
  • How pitching bloggers is similar to and different from pitching to other media.
  • A specific pattern for knowing exactly when to follow up with your media contacts, and when not to.
  • What most annoys journalist and bloggers, and how to avoid it!

This event will be held in the Jordan (A) Ballroom in the Student Union Building at Boise State University. It begins with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and sessions start promptly at 9:00.

Costs are:

  • $45 for PRSA members who register online
  • $60 for nonmembers and at the door
  • $35 for students with a valid student ID

BAF Legends of Advertising Golf Tournament

Boise Advertising Federation's Legends of Advertising Golf Tournament

If you haven’t already heard, it’s that time of year again. The Boise Advertising Federation is hosting the 2012 Legends of Advertising golf tournament.

This year, the tournament will be held on Thursday, September 13th at Shadow Valley Golf Course. It is also being held about a month earlier than in years past, which should help with weather issues that the tournament has run into in the past.

Costs for the tournament are:

  • Single player: $65.00
  • Foursome: $260
  • Foursome plus hole sponsorship: $450

All entries include a barbecue following the tournament. Additional details are below. Online registration is available on the BAF’s website.
