New hire at Oliver Russell

Mitch Kuhn

Oliver Russell in Boise continues to add to its staff, little by little. Most recently, graphic designer Mitch Kuhn.

From our friends at Oliver Russell:

As a graphic designer, Kuhn will develop engaging visual solutions for interactive, print, and motion graphics projects. Prior to Oliver Russell, he worked for AHM Brands in Eugene, OR, where he served as the lead designer on U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials and Hop Valley Brewing Company, among others. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, majoring in advertising with a minor in gender studies.

“Mitch is a real find. His work is advanced well beyond his years,” said Russ Stoddard, Oliver Russell President and Founder.

And while we know that he’s been there for a couple of months already, we still say congratulations Mitchel.

Hey ad peeps, are you up for a challenge?

This one comes courtesy of our friends at Oliver Russell:

Oliver Russell will match up to $500 in online donations from ad agencies and employees to the Feed Four More campaign to benefit the Idaho Foodbank — $5 provides breakfast for a family of four, and $10 buys lunch or dinner for the same family.

In other words, if our $500 is successfully matched, then we’ll provide 800 breakfasts — most important meal of the day! — to people who are struggling to put food on the table. A great way for those of us in the biz to give just a little in order to combat hunger over the holidays.

Social Good Network developed the technology platform for the effort, which works across all devices, desktop, tablets, and mobile. We (Oliver Russell) contributed a pro-bono fundraising video, “Bellies.” Whole Foods Market Boise is sponsoring the initiative — the first location in the entire Whole Foods Market chain to enable online donations via Facebook and mobile. Boise rocks!

New Cooks in the Oliver Russell kitchen

Oliver Russell has added two new — but presumably unrelated — Cooks to their staff:

Dave Cook Dave Cook joins the shop as its new Creative Director. His portfolio of work includes design, branding, advertising and interactive work for clients including Blue Cross of Idaho, the Cleveland Browns and Indians, Alcoa, Hewlett-Packard, Simplot, Lucky Bums Outdoor Gear for Kids, United Way of Treasure Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Create Common Good.

On Dave joining Oliver Russell, President and Founder Russ Stoddard said “Dave’s got a creative mind and an incredibly generous spirit – he’s the perfect fit for Oliver Russell.”

Jesse CookJesse Cook has also joined Oliver Russell, and will focus his efforts on strategy and development in Oliver Russell’s digital marketing practice. Before joining the firm he was with Ocean Media in Huntington Beach, CA, where he worked as a digital media planner and buyer.

On Jesse, Russ said “Jesse has the kind of cutting-edge digital media experience you don’t usually find in Boise, a great add to our company offering.”

Congratulations to both.
