New Hires at Red Sky Public Relations

Red Sky Public Relations continues to grow. Most recently, they’ve added two new faces to their staff:

Anna Gamel, Assistant Account Executive:
Anna is a graduate of the University of Idaho, who was most recently with a privately-funded startup company in Portland, Oregon. There she coordinated large-scale public relations, branding and marketing strategies in order to launch the company’s stealth-mode ideas into a global market.

At the University of Idaho Anna received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Outdoor Recreation Leadership. At Red Sky she’ll be working with the agency’s regional and national consumer, retail and technology clients.

Ben Rosenthal, Account Coordinator:
Ben is Red Sky’s newest addition, joining the firm in September, 2010. He is a graduate of Boise State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Most recently, Ben worked as a remote broadcast technician and traffic assistant at Journal Broadcast Group, where he was part of a team responsible for executing advertising events for a wide variety of local businesses.

At Red Sky, Ben will provide tactical support to a broad range of Idaho clients, primarily focused on public involvement/education, economic development, real estate and cause marketing.

Congratulations to both.

The Not-So-Terrible Twos for SOVRN Creative

Our friends over at SOVRN Creative celebrated their second anniversary recently, and shared a few highlights from the past two years, including:

  • Joe has learned more about trash and recycling, water conservation, wastewater management, and nursing than he ever thought he would. Unless you want to incur his wrath, don’t throw away anything that can be recycled. And unless you’ve got a spare hour, don’t mention anything about wastewater or Steven Seagal.
  • For our work in 2009, we earned a Silver Addy and a Gold Rockie for Rapture in Six Cantos, Silver Rockies for both the Parallels video and the Wastewater 2020 video, an Impact Excellence Award for Curb It, and a bunch of Citations for Excellence. Pretty cool, especially since we submitted 5 pieces and received 10 awards!
  • For our annual board meeting, we took a fishing trip. It got pretty dicey at moments, especially since Joe out-caught Philip, the accomplished fisherman. It made it worse that Joe was borrowing Philip’s equipment and hadn’t been fishing for over 20 years. Brian managed to catch quite a few silver Natty Lights.

Whether you want to call it a birthday, an anniversary, or just a milestone — congratulations are in order to Brian, Joe and Philip for all the success they’ve had so far, and what we’re sure will be much more still to come.

They’re in good company too, joining the likes of Mitchell + Palmer and Red Sky Public Relations, who also celebrated their second years in business this spring.

Setting Aside Humble and Understated…

…for the moment at least.

Because this is the point at which I get to say that the Idaho Ad Agencies blog is now the award-winning Idaho Ad Agencies blog.

Bear with me – the boasting will be over soon.

The Idaho Ad Agencies blog recently received an Excellence award at Capital City Communicator’s inaugural IMPACT Awards.  It was one of 31 winners in 15 categories at the event, which also included awards to our friends at Rizen Creative, Red Sky Public Relations, FusionSet, Murphy Media Services, SOVRN Creative and many more.

So with that little bit of bragging out of the way, we offer a hearty congratulations to all of this year’s winners.

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled programming already in progress.

New Hires and Promotion at Red Sky PR

Red Sky Public Relations is growing again.

Most recently they’ve added to their staff with these new Account Executives:

Chad Biggs — Chad has been on both the client- and agency-side, as an Internal Communications Manager, and as a Public Relations Consultant for a variety of public and private companies.  He was involved in internal communications at Albertsons during their acquisition by SUPERVALU, and has also worked with clients in travel and tourism, healthcare, education and other industries.

Samantha O’Lea — Samantha recently relocated to Boise from the Los Angeles area, where she worked at the Los Angelese office of HL Group.  There, she was responsible for beverage, fashion, luxury lifestyle and design account management and strategic consultation.  She has also worked with other boutique PR agencies, and was a regular speaker at the University of California, Los Angeles.

In addition to the new hires, Alena Shea has been promoted to Account Executive.  Alena has been with the agency since January of 2009, and focuses on the agency’s national health, nutrition, and wellness clients.

Congratulations to all.

New Hire and Practice Area for Red Sky PR

Red Sky Public RelationsRed Sky Public Relations has added to their staff once again.

Ashley Ford has joined the organization as Public Affairs Practice Group Leader, where she’ll be heading up their new Public Affairs practice.  This practice will serve as the Idaho component of a regional affiliation that also covers Oregon and Washington.  “We see opportunities for a sophisticated, non-partisan public relations approach to working with government at all levels in Idaho,” said Red Sky President Jessica Flynn.

Prior to joining Red Sky, Ashley was the Principal Land Use Planner of the Rose Law Group’s Boise office, where she was involved in a wide range of land use and development issues.  She holds a Masters degree from Idaho State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University.
