New Hires at Red Sky

Red Sky Public Relations in Boise has added to its staff again.

Matt Compton recently joined the firm as an Account Executive specializing in public affairs, community outreach, issues campaign strategy and public involvement.

Prior to joining Red Sky, Matt was Community Director of the March of Dimes where he developed and maintained relationships with corporate and community donors and sponsors; developed state-specific awareness campaigns and advocated for vulnerable community members.

And their latest addition appears to be Kailyn Neils.  She is a recent graduate of Washington State University, and while we haven’t seen any formal announcements, word is that today was her first day.

Congratulations to both.

There’s a Whole Lot of Moving Going On

Maybe it’s the time of year. Perhaps it’s the amount of vacant office space available. Or it could be something entirely different.  No matter how you look at it, there’s a whole lot of moving going on in the agency world lately.

For example:

Red Sky Public Relations: Red Sky recently (well, within the past six months or so) moved their office from the space on 9th Street to what used to be Balihoo’s space down in BoDo.

Mitchell + Palmer: The folks at Mitchell + Palmer have moved north just a bit, leaving their space on Hill Road for what we presume to be a larger location off of Bogus Basin Road, and judging by the number of new faces around their shop, the extra space was sorely needed.

c308 Marketing: c308 left the familiar halls of the Hoff Building and moved into a space at 14th & Idaho, across from the WaterCooler.

Stoltz Marketing Group: After more than a decade on Main Street, above two restaurants – first Zutto, now Flatbread Community Oven – Stoltz Marketing Group is moving to the Cornerstone Building at 9th and River. Not one to mess with a trend, they’ll still be above a restaurant. This time, however, it’ll be a few floors up from Cottonwood Grille.

DaviesMoore: The most recent shop (that we know of, at least) to throw their hat into the moving ring, DaviesMoore recently signed a lease for space in the 805 Idaho Building (also known as the Boise National Bank Building), according to the listings in the Idaho Business Review. If I had to venture a guess, I’d suspect they’ll be moving by the end of the summer.

Are there others that we’ve missed?

UPDATE:

Glaring oversight on my part — Noot Group recently moved as well – from their space on Broadway to a new location in Bown Crossing. (Thanks for the reminder James).

LEARNCH: The Art of Relationships

AIGA Idaho is presenting their second LEARNCH event of the year.  This event, scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th at Ha’ Penny Bridge Pub in downtown Boise, features guest speakers Chad Biggs and Jessica Flynn from Red Sky Public Relations.

Chad and Jessica will be speaking about The Art of Relationships: Fostering Media and Community Relations.

The event is free to all attendees with no host food and drinks by Ha’ Penny.  You can RSVP through the Facebook event listing if you’re planning to attend.

Catching up on New Hire News

Okay, so I’ve fallen behind with news of new hires as of late, so here’s a quick roundup of a few that have taken place in the past several months.

Oliver Russell
Adie Tubbs joined Oliver Russell as an Account Coordinator.  Previously, she was a Leasing Consultant with Riverstone Residential Group, and has also interned with Advantage Advertising.  She is a graduate of the University of Idaho.

Stoltz Marketing Group
Brian Stoltz joined Stoltz Marketing Group as Production and Media Coordinator.  Brian was previously an office in the U.S. Army and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  He is also currently an MBA student at Boise State University.

Red Sky Public Relations
Leigh Ann Dufurrena joined Red Sky Public Relations as an Account Executive.  She was previously with Carew Co., and is a graduate of Boise State University.  Leigh Ann is also an active volunteer in the community, giving time to organizations such as the Trey McIntyre Project, Cupcake Collective and i48 Film Project.

Congratulations to all.

The things that happen when we’re not paying attention

For regular readers of the Idaho Ad Agencies blog, you’ve not doubt noticed that updates and new posts have been few and far between.  Or, at the very least, they haven’t kept up with the pace that you’ve come to expect from this site.

Even though that’s been the case as of late, there have still been quite a few things happening in and around the marketing, advertising and communications industry.  Here’s just a sampling:

SOVRN Creative added a new staff member recently.

SOVRN also won a National Silver ADDY Award for their work on Todd Meier’s “Rapture in Six Cantos” Direct Mail, and completed several spots for the “Go On” campaign from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation.

Red Sky Public Relations welcomed two new folks to their team in the past month or so.

Both the Boise Advertising Federation and AIGA Idaho look to be ramping up events for the season.  The Magic Valley Advertising Federation is also maintaining an active schedule, and the Eastern Idaho Advertising Federation looks to be picking up as well.

All in all, there’s a lot going on these day, with more yet to come.

Even if some half-rate hack blogger isn’t covering it nearly as much as they should…
