The Department of Marketing at Boise State University is looking for someone to teach an Advertising Agency Operations course this fall. The class is scheduled for Monday evenings from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Previous teaching experience is not required, but they do need someone who has advertising industry experience and a Master’s degree, though the latter can be in any field.

A short course description, for those who are interested:

MKTG 401 ADVERTISING AGENCY OPERATIONS (3-0-3)(F,S). Understand how an advertising agency works, conduct market research, generate insights for creative action, and write a strategy and communications brief for a national brand. PREREQ: MKTG 301 or PERM/INST.

The perfect candidate will be versed in the standard tools and skills of digital media buying, but even more importantly, they will be a continuous learner and creative problem solver who loves facing new challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Digital paid media placement/management
  • Digital media planning
  • Marketing automation
  • Reporting

Basic qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in standard digital advertising platforms: Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and habits
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical tendencies and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of standard digital advertising tactics: display, remarketing, search, video, native, paid social media, OTT, etc.
  • Experience in email marketing and marketing automation
  • Understanding of digital tracking and analytics (experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, pixels and other tracking tools a plus).
