Fuel 3 Adds Another Station

Okay, so maybe the title’s a little too corny, but what else can you do when the imagery splashed throughout Fuel3 Advertising’s website are of gas pumps…

But back to the actual story.

Fuel3 has opened an office in Portland, Oregon, to expand the reach of their headquarters in Boise. Now up to a staff of five, the Portland office was opened, and is managed, by Ryan Panitz. Ryan was formerly a reporter and morning anchor with KTVB in Boise, and is also working with the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games on Marketing & Strategic Relationships.

Fuel3’s expansion into Portland was also mentioned briefly in this article on The Oregonian’s website.

Congratulations to the folks over at Fuel3, and best of luck for continued success.

Local PR Agencies Team Up on National Account

Although this news is a little late in coming, it is worth noting that Murphy Media Services and FusionSet were selected to develop and conduct a media outreach and publicity campaign for the National Diving Dog Tour.

The tour, which takes place across the country, including cities in New Jersey, Wisconsin, California, Tennessee, and Georgia, features dogs launching off a 40-foot stage into a 20,000-gallon pool.

As often as we may make mention of local clients who go out of market for their marketing communications needs, it is nice to see cases like this, where local firms are able to widen their reach and work on accounts that take them across the country, so to speak.

Congratulations to both Murphy Media Services and FusionSet.

Which Would You Prefer

Seeing or hearing an advertisement that is obviously outdated, or seeing/hearing nothing at all?

A couple of recent examples:

There are two new billboards just off of Chinden Blvd, on the North side of the road, near the Hewlett Packard campus. When traveling West, one of the boards is for a movie that was showing on May 30th. At last glance, today’s date is August 11th.

Recently seen on a few ValleyRide buses around town: ads for the Shrine Circus, including a schedule, for events that took place back in mid-June.

Yes, it’s a recurring theme. The media placement and the message have to play well together. Otherwise, it just looks foolish and lazy.

Embracing Their Awkwardness

Over the past couple of years, I’ve regularly picked on, harassed, and generally tormented to folks over at Stoltz Marketing Group about their lack of updates to their website.

They finally got sick of me pestering them. Or not.

In all seriousness, though, the folks over at Stoltz Marketing Group have launched the latest and greatest version of the agency’s website. In addition to the typical fodder — capabilities, portfolio and such — they’ve also shared some of their unique personality, and a lighter side of the agency with a few candid photos from the staff throughout the years.

You’ll have to see the site to fully appreciate it.

Now you’re on the hook though, folks. Gotta keep it updated.

The End of an Era

Today marks the end of an era in the marketing and advertising world here in Idaho, for this is the last day that you’ll see Jeremy Chase as a member of the Drake Cooper staff.

Jeremy is packing up and heading to Salt Lake City, Utah, and is on to bigger and better things, as they say.

But before his takes one final bow at the end of the day, I wanted to take a moment, on behalf of the entire marketing and advertising industry in and around the State of Idaho, to say one simple thing:

Thank you Jeremy for all that you have done.

In a world where change happens at incredible speed, Jeremy has been a constant presence. He has been with Drake Cooper for well over a decade, and has helped to shepherd both clients and agency through the highs and lows that have come along with it. A true professional in every sense of the word, Jeremy has been a tremendous asset to the agency, and his departure will leave some very, very large shoes to fill.

I’m sure there will be many toasts made inside (and outside) the walls of Drake Cooper today, stories shared, and maybe even a tear or two shed. But let me take this opportunity to add my own thoughts…

Jeremy, you’re a class act in every sense. You’ve been an excellent ambassador for your agency and this industry, and you will most certainly be missed.
