Mercaldo on the move

Josh Mercaldo

As 2019 came to a close we got word that veteran account manager Josh Mercaldo made the move to Rizen Creative.

Josh has spent the better part of the past two decades in the agency world, first with Mediaphex, which later merged to become Wirestone (now part of Accenture Interactive), then Publicis, followed by a decade-plus with Drake Cooper, and most recently CLM.

He is a graduate of Idaho State University, and lifelong Toronto Blue Jays fan.

People on the move

Quinn Husney recently joined Drake Cooper as an Account Coordinator after spending the summer in their Backstage Pass internship program.

Also at Drake Cooper, Olivia Gonzalez joined their team as an Account Supervisor, following her move to Boise from New York City, where she spent time at Huge and TBWA\Chiat\Day NY.

Brandon Stoker joined Stoltz Marketing Group as an Art Director, following a two-year stint with Oliver Russell.

More recently at Stoltz, Tracy Hitchcock was added as Director of Business Development, following her time as CEO of Create Common Good, and with the J.R. Simplot Company prior to that.

In September, DaviesMoore added Adam Rosenlund to their team as their new Associate Creative Director.

Erick Gutierrez joined SOVRN as a Project Manager earlier this month, accordingly to an update on LinkedIn, after a year as an Account Coordinator with Stoltz Marketing Group.

Bursting at the seams

Duft Watterson has gone through quite the growth spurt over the past several months.

In April, they announced the addition of two new team members, Designer Sam Fischer and Account Coordinator and Content Writer Angie Heuring.

Shortly thereafter, they grew by three more, as Account Managers Casaundra Petersen and Shauna Tefft, and Designer Jeff Lautenslager joined the team.

Thought they were done? Not even close.

Their most recent additions, based on what they’ve shared on Instagram and published on their website, are Designer Randi Arnot, Senior Designer Inna Grishchuk, Account Manager Hanna Wenter, Senior Copywriter Rich Lufrano, Digital Programmer David Scholer, and Videographer and Photographer Michael Bonocore.

Phew! That’s a lot of new names and faces to try and keep track of. And yes, there will be a quiz. Better study up.

Oliver Russell branches out into Portland. Again.

Coinciding with the addition of Business Development Director Morgan Rider, Oliver Russell recently announced their expansion into Portland, Oregon. Their Portland office shares space with B-Line Urban Delivery, a fellow B Corp, in the Redd.

In the press release about the expansion, Rider says, “I couldn’t be more excited to be expanding Oliver Russell’s reach beyond Idaho to Oregon, Washington and California,” said Rider. “My focus will be on cultivating new opportunities with businesses and nonprofits that share our vision for positive world change. Portland is home to many purpose-driven brands, and Oliver Russell’s expertise in branding and marketing helps organizations across the Northwest achieve their goals with a strong sense of values and purpose.”

Longtime readers may remember that this is not Oliver Russell’s first foray into the Portland market, as the agency previously had a presence there in the mid-2000s.
